When you join the Land Collective - Your investment enables us to build up the capital to buy the land that we will collectively own, and it gives you certain Rights of Entitlement to use of the land, one of these being the right to attend gatherings on the land for up to 28 days each year for the rest of your life. (Adults free or small cost - Kids go free up to the age of 15)

Putting on the Gatherings:

There is lots of expertise and decades of experience, of how to put on successful summer gatherings within our networks and when we buy our collective land, we will be skill sharing with other organisations that have been running gatherings for years – we don't need to re-invent the wheel! We will see what our available resources are, in terms of land, people, energy, materials, Skilled Contributers, and money, to design a sustainable and effective system to run great summer gatherings on our collectively owned land.

The Land Roots Summer Gatherings:

The intention is that members will be able to camp on the land for up to 28 days out of each year, probebly 4 weeks throughout the summer, but we could time these gatherings so that we are on the land for planting, harvesting and major pushes like barn raising weeks!

The gatherings are an essential element of Land Roots, they will be a time and space to live creatively in communtiy with each other and they will :

• Provide an environment where people can have fun whilst exploring green living skills
• Encourage personal sustainable development through participation in practical workshops and seminars that will be creative, enterprising, and empowering.
• Provide a platform for local green business and organisations.
• Be a place for us to grow  -  a Space for Life

You can take your friends and make new ones, a green tribal gathering where you can feel a sense of ownership, belonging and pride in knowing that you have helped to buy the Land. They will be an exploration of community living, creativity and consciousness. A place where you can learn to generate your own power, grow and eat naturally, sit in ceremony and design the future.

A step towards making the Earth a common treasury for all.

Music, dance and arts - Bring your instruments, bring your band, bring your dancing shoes! There will be lots of music, art installations, performance, circus skills, dress-up mayhem, temple space, hot tubs and saunas and so much more...

Green Crafts - Including willow weaving, felt making, green wood working, pottery, bushcraft, nature walks, creating recycled art and sculptures..... There is a lot to learn along the way to soak up green goodness into our minds.

Eco – Education - We want Land Roots Gatherings to be participatory, family focused and conscious community camps, where workshops, green crafts, kids activities, speakers forums, skills sharing, talks and other educational activities will play as much of a part as the music. Spreading the message is a big part of the green revolution taking place right now.  We want to provide oodles of opportunities for us all to learn how to live sustainability. The more green skills people learn, the more we can make positive change possible.

Sustainable Power – Low Impact Energy - The Land Roots Gatherings will be powered using entirely renewable energies from solar power, wind power and pedal power to locally sourced biodiesel. The real reason to be 'sustainable' is because its good for the Earth. And if its good for the Earth then its got to be good for you, your children and future grandchildren.

We will have friendly Eco Rangers on site, helping the crew, stall holders and you to be environmentally friendly.

Land Roots Gatherings Environmental Policy will include:

• Local Organic food at the gatherings
• Environmental Transport
• Litter Collection and Recycling

Bring what you want to find - If you do face painting - bring your face paints, if you are a storyteller - come tell stories, if you juggle - bring your balls, if you teach choir - bring em all! It up to us to make our land and our gatherings wonderful !
